Introduction to Number Theory: Building Number Sense

Grade 6-9 | Competition Focus: AMC 8 / AMC 10

This course introduces the number theory concepts that appear throughout math competitions, from AMC 8 through AMC 10. Topics include primes and composites, multiples and divisors, prime factorization and its applications, base numbers, modular arithmetic, divisibility rules, and linear congruences - developing the deep number sense that separates strong competitors from the rest.

  • Ability to apply modular arithmetic and solve linear congruences
