Basic Algebra: Building a Complete Algebra Foundation

Grade 6-9 | Competition Focus: AMC 8 (Honor Roll) / AMC 10 Foundation

This course builds a complete algebra foundation, moving students from core skills into more advanced techniques. Topics include exponents and radicals, linear equations and inequalities, ratio and proportion, systems of linear equations, factoring quadratics, completing the square, the quadratic formula, and an introduction to complex numbers - the algebra toolkit needed for both harder AMC 8 questions and AMC 10 preparation.

What students will develop

• Fluency manipulating exponents, radicals, and algebraic expressions
• Ability to set up and solve linear equations, inequalities, and systems
• Mastery of factoring quadratics, completing the square, and the quadratic formula
• Early exposure to complex numbers, extending algebraic thinking beyond the reals
