Advanced Algebra: Extending the Algebra Toolkit

Grade 8-10 | Competition Focus: AMC 10 / AMC 12 Foundation

This course builds directly on Basic Algebra, taking students deeper into the techniques that separate strong problem solvers from the rest. Topics include quadratics, systems of equations, clever and non-standard factorizations, complex numbers, functions and graphing, sequences and series, special functions, and exponents and logarithms - the algebraic backbone of AMC 10 and AMC 12 problems.

What students will develop

• Ability to spot and apply clever, non-obvious factorization techniques
• Comfort working with functions, graphs, and their transformations
• Fluency with sequences, series, and their underlying patterns
• Mastery of exponent and logarithm rules and their algebraic applications

Format: Small-group instruction with guided practice, extending Basic Algebra and preparing students for AMC 10 and AMC 12 preparation courses.
