This course prepares students for the higher-level reading and writing demands of the state ELA exam at this grade band, where passages grow longer and questions ask for more textual analysis. Using released test items, students practice identifying evidence to support answers, analyzing author's craft and purpose, and writing extended responses that are organized and well-supported. Regular timed practice builds both accuracy and stamina for the full length of the exam.
