This course prepares serious student writers to tackle the John Locke Institute's rigorous, university-level essay questions across subjects like philosophy, politics, economics, history, and law. Students learn to choose a strong question, build an original thesis, and support it with independent research rather than surface-level summary. Sessions focus on constructing a sustained, well-reasoned argument across several thousand words - including anticipating counterarguments and defending a position with evidence, not just opinion.
