Math Kangaroo G3-4: Creative Problem-Solving

Grades 3-4 | Competition Focus: Math Kangaroo

This course builds the creative, non-routine thinking that sets Math Kangaroo apart from typical school math. Instead of drilling procedures, students practice spotting patterns, reasoning through visual and logical puzzles, and approaching unfamiliar problems with curiosity rather than hesitation - through the same playful, puzzle-style questions found on the actual Math Kangaroo contest.

What students will develop

• Comfort tackling multi-step problems without an obvious formula to apply
• Pattern recognition and logical reasoning skills
• Confidence working through competition-style questions under time pressure
• A foundation for progressing into MOEMS and AMC-track courses in later grades

Format: Small-group instruction with guided practice, building toward the annual Math Kangaroo contest hosted by AAA - an official Math Kangaroo USA center.
