Grade 5-6 | Competition Focus: Math Kangaroo
This course builds on foundational Math Kangaroo reasoning skills, pushing students toward more complex, layered problems that require combining multiple strategies at once. Students tackle multi-step patterns, deeper logical puzzles, and non-routine questions that demand flexible thinking rather than a single formula - the same style of challenge found in the upper-grade Math Kangaroo contest.
What students will develop
- Ability to combine multiple problem-solving strategies within a single question
- Sharper pattern recognition across more abstract, multi-layered puzzles
- Persistence and flexible thinking when a first approach doesn't work
- A strong foundation for transitioning into MOEMS and AMC 8 preparation
Format: Small-group instruction with guided practice, building toward the annual Math Kangaroo contest hosted by AAA - an official Math Kangaroo USA center.
